So they're there and it's legal to mess with them. I know all of these projects are based on Hexen, which is based on the Doom engine, and all of these games are the Build engine, but you do have the Witchaven guy in Korax Arena. I dunno, figured this might help you guys out in some way.
On a related note, that means that it's legal to make a Witchaven/WHII Source Port, and right here is the starting point to do so. Has anyone been interested in such a project? I'd love to see it, myself. With DosBox you can run them, but it's not easy. Easier play would be nice, as would improved graphics and better mouselook. What I'd be most impressed with is multiplayer for the original, and easier multiplayer for the sequel. <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
I know, these games aren't everyone's cup of tea, but you have to admit they've still got some kind of charm, and it's a charm I really like. The nostalgia factor doesn't hurt, either, as these were the first FULL FPS games I ever played (I did have the Doom shareware), and the build editor that came with the second one gave me my first taste of map editing ever, and led to a love of customization in my games.
