Are you sure it doesn't displays? Remember that the skybox sector needs to have a "camera" object set, which will be used as the origin of what's displayed as the skybox, maybe if the camera is set below the floor level it might produce something like what you describe. If that is set correctly, then I would like to see the map you are using to determine the problem, it could be a bug in the renderer <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/orc2.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->.
