Anyone going to make permanent servers for KA fun or will do arranged matches? how about one this saturday?

Actually, we were trying to get the Master Server working not too long ago. I'm not sure if anyone figured it out yet. From my knowledge it works, but doesn't work. <!-- s:P --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/orc4.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- s:P --> If that makes sense. But from my knowledge it hasn't be tried for awhile, so I may have out-of-date information.

Anyone can host their own servers, I'll put some documentation on that on the forums and the wiki later today <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/orc9.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->. As for an official server, we are still evaluating options as of now.

Have you ever played Q3A or UT deathmatch online? I found it often less fun than playing with bots locally.

It depends on how many players, which map, etc. IMO, but sometimes is not a fun as one expects, yes.

Making your own server tends to be a bit...ehhh... well, a bit of a nuisance and it's hard to find a game that's already been started. I have a question about if you make a master server. I don't have much experience when it comes to internet programing(although I'm pretty damn good with DOS). What would the basic appearance of it be like? Would it be a chat room, or just a hub(hah) where all of the internet connection would be linked and flipped with one another?

It's mainly a broadcasting feature, it would just announce which games are actually being run, nothing else <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/orc2.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->.

I figured it was. Right now the connection is alot like origional Hexen, Hexen II, Doom, Doom 2 (ect.). Complicated, but only fairly limited(depending on how well you know ip and what not). I look forward to a main server, but I hope it doesn't cost a fortune, and you end up having to add mass adverts to the site.
