Hey HNY all... here i't just been midnight. From 1997 to 2000 or so I had the tradition to celebrate this occasion by killing D'Sparil. <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) --> Last year (and I think the year before) I skipped this but this year I figured I'd resurrect the tradition and so I did it again. <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) --> BTW this time around I did it as part of playing Heretic once again, in the last couple of days I've replayed the full original game, with good timing finishing E3M7 earlier this evening. <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

Well for me, the new year will begin in a few hours, and we're celebrating at my Grandma's house. BTW I remember when I once converted MAP32 from Final DOOM into Heretic and beat it on skill 4. THAT was hard - if you die in the beginning of the map, the game crashes because there's too many monsters. Back around '98 I was pondering for over a year whether to buy Final DOOM (it was a full-priced game at the local shop), then someone bought it. After that, I was getting more and more interested in checking it out for the architecture, until finally around 2000 or so I could borrow it from a buddy of mine. Just to find out it's such a low quality that user-made maps are often better.

Well I agree in that there's nothing special or unique in Final DOOM, but the second secret level IS really hard, even in Heretic. I still have my copy of the Heretic conversion, and you might even be able to beat it on skill 5 <!-- s8) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cool.gif" alt="8)" title="Cool" /><!-- s8) --> .

Not these days, not any more. I might have 5 years ago. <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) --> (back then I regularly played Heretic on skill 5 by warping in to every single map, i.e. always starting out w/o weapons, ammo and artifacts)
