I'm trully happy you liked the Mod. The good thing about being a mage is the power. Once you have gained needed levels, you will be almost untouchable because you have so much firepower (the main weapins won't cost you any mana, plus you have the special wands). But the fact you won't probably have more than 30 or 40 hit points even when in a high level, compensates it for the gameplay value: you are almost a god in terms of magic power, but a good bite from a chaos serpent or a Ettin that gets up close and deliver a couple of blows with his mace will kill you. That makes the mage quite funny to play. That's a problem when playing with the fighter - after a stage, most enemies will dye imediatly after one blow from any weapon; I usually founf myself wandering around a map after the level puzzles, killing the monsters at will, without paying much attention to them, wich can get boring at times. He has imense health, so I was never afraid of being catch off guard. Still, the way the Dark Bishop and the Heresiarch were modified, made them extremely hard to kill by the fighter (specially the first when in packs), and I can say that the guy finally finds his match when playing with the big guys.
All I can say about the Doomsday engine in Kmod is that we caught it in a given version\timeline and used it, with its qualities and bugs, to develop the mod. I also get that sound error, but it's most likely an engine problem and nothing we can do about it (well, Moose can do about it. ).
PS: Thanks for liking the Hurt skins, they were hard to make, but in the end I think it was worth the effort. I also wanted more gory effects, in the general game but specially on the "change" between healthy and hurt "skins", but the main task was not to change Hexen initial feel that much, since it's indeed a Gameplay mod. Let's hope we can get the time and energy to add such effects to our new mod!
