In 3 days is KMOD's 3rd birthday, Moose how does it look with KMOD 3.0? Can it be released at least as a public beta?

Well I could try and finish it off a little and we could do a public beta but KMod2.9 also could be out although I'm having troubles with that affrit bug as I haven't been able to re-create it and the code looks fine. But everything else I found is done I think. It's up to you, say which you'd prefer and I'll spend the weekend doing that one or both if it's possible.

A 2.9 that doesn't fix all 2.8 bugs would be somewhat pointless and also since it's the 3rd birthday of KMOD, a KMOD 3 would be the "real thing". <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) --> A public beta should be good enough - right now, what's most important I guess is that the spellbook and the journal are in place and working, even if not in a completely OK form. Oh yes and change the spell order for the Mage in the way it was discussed many times before, the invulnerability spell should change places with the reflection spell.

In which case I'll work my arse off to get KMod3 with compleat DS and FDA, and fix up the journal and spellbook. Then hope my FTP client wants to work.

This is true, but my FTP is working on my T35 account so I hope it'll work for getting to our public FTP server.

I had an idea about the KMod3 SDK while working today (unfortunatally somewhat slower than intended). Would it be useful for me or anyone else for that matter to make a conversation editor of some form? If yes I could do it after KMod3 full version is public and release it with the other configs and documents as one big SDK with the sourcecode. Also does somone want to make all the Help Screens that we need aswell as a Title screen and the Credits. Don't worry about the journal and spellbook graphics we talked about they can be done later.

I'm glad you like the Convo Editor idea. If you can't do convos don't worry I did some for an internal beta or if you feel there not good enough I'll talk to Khris, he likes Hexen and has an odd imagination, usually used for mocking me <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt=":roll:" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!-- s:roll: --> I'll update the Credits if nothing else of the screens I mentioned above.

Does anything other that loading Hexdd.wad and DKShops.wad need to be done/loaded to play DK in KMod?

I think not, check the batchfile in KMOD 2.x to be completely sure.

The situation is not nessessarily the best or most desired of situations, but we can still release a public beta of KMod3, even if the only thing that really needs to be tested is the new attribute system and the conversation system. Either way it's up to you, and I could either do the distro myself or upload the binary and wad to KDev and let you do it, also up to you.

Hey what about encouraging a bit of independence in the team? <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) --> Meaning you could upload the whole distro to the public download area and make the newspost on the website that KMOD is 3 years old and for this reason we release a public beta of KMOD 3.0 (and you are the one who knows best what exactly is new in this, so you can make the best "what's new?" list). If it's a prob, of course I'll do it, but I find it a good idea if people see it's not always the same guy doing all the PR.
